About the Position: Serves as an Administrative Support Specialist working in one of several offices; U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District; located in downtown Kansas City, MO.
Duties
Implements procedures for the control, maintenance and disposition of records. Conducts inspection of organization files to ensure compliance with regulations.
Serves as primary point of contact (POC) for timekeeping of employees; responsible for performing or managing the gathering documents, performing QC, and entering the payroll information into DCPDS; requires coordination with RM.
Attends meetings on behalf of the Administrative Officer as needed to ensure program representation and information sharing.
Works closely with Administrative Officer and senior managers in studying and reviewing administrative activities in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Independently conducts research to provide background or statistical information relevant to policy or program issues.
Primary areas of responsibility: assisting in studies, statistical reports, preparation of personnel actions, performance plan and evaluation completion tracking, awards, training, timekeeping issues, property accountability.
Prepares requests for personnel actions, with very general guidance from the Administrative Officer.

Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating training, budgetary, personnel actions, administrative functions; analyzing data AND creating reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management, Human Resources.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
