This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Operations Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of coordinating and guiding Division projects and policy initiatives.

Duties
Handles various complex and sensitive matters for the Division. Assists in coordinating and guiding Division's projects and policy initiatives.
Oversees special projects, which may involve in-depth research and analysis of technical and policy-related issues. Researches and recommends solutions to matters involving policies and operational activities at the direction of the Deputy Director.
Collaborates with executives, managers, and staff in the Operations Branch and others in the FDIC to ensure that the Deputy Director’s initiatives and other assignments are executed.
Researches and prepares materials, talking points, speech drafts, presentations, and proposals on a variety of matters for key internal audiences.
Reviews studies, reports, and proposals for the purpose of briefing the Deputy Director on operations matters.
Identifies opportunities for improvements to Division operations and prepares options papers and other reports.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 14 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience is defined as experience researching and analyzing technical and policy-related issues to evaluate impact on operations related to bank supervision; conducting studies to evaluate whether program objectives were met; and assessing information for potential legal, reputational or operational risks.
