This position is located at Departmental Offices,International Affairs. This position involves research, writing and analysis related to legislative and policy proposals for a wide range of proposals impacting the international financial system, which may include financial markets and international financial institutions.
Duties
As a/an Policy Advisor, you will:
Monitor developments in the international financial markets, the international financial institutions, and related legislative, regulatory and policy developments and make recommendations senior management officials of the best courses of action.
Monitor developments in international financial institutions, and related legislative, regulatory and policy developments.
Monitor developments in international financial stability, and related legislative, regulatory and policy developments.
Conduct research on a wide range of issues related to International Affairs, including financial research, legal research, regulatory and policy developments.
Summarize findings and research in written products of various types, including tables, charts, short summaries, as well as longer memos, presentations and reports;

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience for the GS-13 is one year (52) weeks of experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent in either public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience:
Conducting in-depth research and analysis relating to legislative and policy proposals for a wide range of policies impacting the international financial system; AND
Preparing policy recommendations; AND
Communicating clearly and succinctly such analyses and studies to senior decision makers.
TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
