This position is located in Management Directorate, Office of Security & Integrity, Integrity Assurance Division, Technical Support Branch.
As an Operations Research Analyst, you will apply automated processes, advanced statistical analysis methods, and innovative visualization techniques to OSI, USCIS, or other stakeholder data in order to identify anomalies, trends, and indicators of organizational risk.
Duties
Develops automated data possesses to intake varied data sets and produce robust and dynamic dashboards and reports, identify trends and anomalies, and establish other indicators of risk.
Completes technical processes/analyses, communicates and displays the results in a meaningful way to a varied audience, to include peers, supervisors, data stakeholders, and organizational leadership.
Performs research, formulates, analyzes, and produces advanced and automated analytical work products in support of USCIS and OSI missions.
Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis, data standardization and quality assurance, and developing dashboards, reports, and graphics based on the analysis and interpretation of program statistics of relevant data sets.
Develops, provides expert advice, and assists with implementation of effective methods and systems to capture data in a structured, secure, and standardized format.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 03/07/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 03/07/2024.
Basic Education Requirements: All applicants must meet the following basic requirements: (Must be supported in Transcripts from an accredited institution, Resume and/or Applicable Certificate)
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Conducting studies on operational issues and government programs that require applying knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analytical methods;
Produces qualitative and quantitative analytical work products;
Providing sound recommendations to critical problems involving operational requirements, and/or operational programs;
Construction of data dashboards that are representative of live data feeds;
Developing methods and systems to capture data in a structured and secure format.
