This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a technical expert in industrial hygiene (IH) for the Industrial Hygiene Service Line(IHSL), U. S. Army Public Health Command-Pacific (PHC-P). Salary includes 21.79% locality payment. A 8.90% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) is currently authorized, subject to change.

Duties

Responsible for conducting comprehensive industrial hygiene surveys, special studies, and providing expert advice to the U.S. Military and other Federal installations within Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM). Plans, conducts, and leads studies and surveys in order to identify industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental health hazards or requiring resolution to complex or unique IH issues. Sets objectives for and manages the PHC-P IH Program to include: training and management of IH personnel; planning and organizing the IH Program mission; scheduling of field surveys; and budget for IH Program

Requirements

• You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
• One year trial/probationary period may be required.
• Able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
• This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
• Up to 20% TDY may be required.
• Able to obtain and maintain U.S. Passport
