You will serve as an Environmental Protection Assistant in the Installation and Logistics Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.

Duties

You will assist in the development, coordination, preparation, and management of environmental plans, reports, and correspondence. You will obtain data concerning workload, funding needs, manpower requirements, justification material/supplies, travel and training. You will establish controls to monitor expenses during the year and recommends adjustments to deal with changing situations such as varying costs for office supplies/equipment, parts, services and/or changes in availability of funds. You will review financial statements and status of funds to assure that reporting activities operations are performed within limitations. You will receive incoming mail and collect background data to route to appropriate action officer. You will analyze data requirements to support required reports and data collection from existing reports and by special data calls.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license and base driving privileges.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government credit card.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: responding to and cleaning up hazardous material/oil spills, providing guidance to personnel who generate and manage hazardous wastes at the unit/workshop level, and/or inspecting hazardous waste collection points for compliance with environmental regulations. GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in hazardous material/oil spill response and cleanup, assisting in guiding personnel who generate and manage hazardous wastes at the unit/workshop level, and/or assisting in hazardous waste collection point inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
