Duties
You will splice, test, repair and diagnose all manner of copper conductor cables.
You will remove cable covering and insulation, fan out wires, and test out various circuits to insure proper connections.
You may pull and install cables in underground ducts or on overhead pole lines.
You will test and repair communication cables.
You will ensure that needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available and that needed stock is obtained.
You will check work in progress and/or when finished to see that instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines are met.
You will report to supervisors on status and progress of work and/or causes of delays.
You will read interpret, append, update, and maintain cable diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and line drawings.
You will need advanced electronics and high speed data cable systems, special video and data transmission cables to diagnose and repair.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
