Duties
You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST (SPECIAL SECURITY OFFICER) in the SECURITY DEPARTMENT, NAVAL COMPUTER AND TELECOMMMUNICATIONS STATION SAN DIEGO (NAVCOMTELSTA).
You will provide advice, counsels, and/or instructs pertinent personnel on security and administrative regulations, policies, and concerns.
You will implement command security operations and enforce entry/exit procedures to provide positive identifications and circulation control within the command’s restricted and controlled areas.
You will establish and manage the command courier program and ensure couriers and those who transport classified information receive proper training, possess required documentation, and use approved methods to transport classified information.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
*Experience utilizing Physical Security Equipment programs to include intrusion detection systems, closed circuit television, automated electronic access control, etc.
*Experience applying security policies, procedures, and techniques up to the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) level of access to advise personnel on established security requirements and to resolve clearly defined security questions, problems or situations.
*Experience reading, comprehending, interpreting, and implementing established security policies and procedures in a variety of environments and locations within the organization.
*Experience applying security knowledge involving commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies where judgment is required in selecting appropriate standardized applications or accepted established variations regarding security practices.
