About the Position: Serve as Plans and Operations Specialist: Employs an extensive knowledge of the mission, functions, and operations of the Brigade, battalions, and Reserve Component Units to assists the S-3 for all matters concerning training, operations, plans, force development, modernization, and mobilization.

Duties

Assist preparation, coordination, authentication, publishing, and distribution of Command SOPs, operation plans (OPLANs), operation orders (OPORDs), fragmentary orders (FRAGOs), and warning orders (WARNORDs) to which other staff sections contribute. Provide direction and guidance on standards, methods, operational priorities, and compliance with policies and directives. Coordinate the work of the section. Supervise the planning and development of courses of action and subsequent Mobilization Station and Power Generation Platform contingencies. Provide executive direction, assistance, and support for all operations and missions of the Brigade. Assist the supervisor in plan development and training of both Brigade and Mobilized unit Mission Essential Task Lists (METLs). Conduct parallel planning with the Mobilization Installation and focuses the sections efforts on Commanders’ specific and directive guidance. Serves as a senior advisor for required training; supervise, plan, direct, coordinate, manage and evaluate training management in all areas of training support and mobilization.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • A one year supervisory probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
