You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant in HRO NW located at Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton WA. This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Duties

Explain the recruitment process to supervisors, employees and/or potential candidates. Provide supervisors and selectees with information on in processing/onboarding procedures and requirements. Input and retrieve data into/from an automated database, including formatting and typing correspondence and other documents used in employee processing. Provide recruitment and staffing support. Respond to basic customer inquiries on applying for jobs, health and life benefits, claims for creditable service, types of leave, within grade increases, etc. Conducts in-processing of new employees via an automated on-boarding system to include issuing appointment/information documents and obtaining appointment documents. Review action requests for accuracy; resolve discrepancies; complete missing information and follow up on suspense actions. Check all documents for consistency and completeness, following up for additional information as required. Provide administrative support to HR Specialists, including copying, mailing, and creating request for personnel actions.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For the GS-05: A. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to experience in answering routine HR related inquiries; utilizing office automated systems to enter, retrieve and manage data; tracking, coordinating, updating, and maintaining files and records For the GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to experience in providing assistance and respond to technical questions regarding Human Resources related topics, answering basic customer inquiries, and creating and maintaining electronic folders using an automated onboarding system. Education

GS-05:
