You will serve as a Production Services Supervisor (Temporary Services) in the Temporary Service Shop (Code 990), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will evaluate skills of team members.
You will carry out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies.
You will supervise several different trades and ensure the effective and efficient management of the planned workload projects assigned to the Temporary Services Division.
You will oversee shop processes are being used in the shop and shipboard and evaluate and improve these processes.
You will have the technical accountability for the quality and quantity of the work performed by subordinates, requiring a thorough expert knowledge of the methods, techniques, processes, procedures, tools, materials and practices of the trades.
You will have a general knowledge of the methods, techniques, procedures, tools, materials, and practices of other trades, such as piping, steam and water to shipboard systems, compressed air, steam, water, pipefitting, nuclear/nonnuclear, etc.
You will maintain a high standard of workmanship and compliance for the projects assigned with the procedures essential for quality assurance i.e., reactor plants, surveillance of nuclear work, as well as review of records and procedures.
You will maintain knowledge of contracts with the applicable employee unions and understand the principles of contamination control and manrem control pertaining to his/her work area and trade skills.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
