Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Information Technology, Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations Directorate in Lorton, VA. Duties

This position will allow you to use your expertise in administrative oversight and assistance to provide substantive support to Customs and Border Protection upper management. This position starts at a salary of $99,200.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $128,956.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $128,956 (GS-12 Step 10). The Inventory Management Specialist position is responsible for the agency's property management program to include acquisition, receiving, transferring, excess, re-utilization, repairing, and retiring of various types of property. Typical duties will include: Providing technical guidance and assistance in the area of inventory asset management and control. Conducting and implementing OIT property/asset management directives and procedures. Managing regulating and coordinating assigned personal property/assets. Preserving storage records and develops data for inventory reports. Monitoring the flow of materials from original and subsequent acquisition shipment and storage to final distribution.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing and tracking the distribution of supplies and equipment. Identifying shelf life of inventory items based upon analysis and usage of items. Maintaining storage records and developing data for inventory reports. Performing inventories identifying discrepancies conducting searches for missing items or equipment and reconciling inventory and stock levels.
