Duties

As a Inventory Management Specialist, you are responsible for several phases of material management including planning, utilization, accountability and retention or disposal of personal property. You will provide technical guidance and assistance in the area of inventory, asset management and control. This position starts at a salary of $94,199.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $122,459.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $122,459 (GS-12 Step 10). In this position, you will perform the typical work assignments below Providing technical guidance and assistance in the area of inventory, asset management and control. Conducting and implementing OIT property/asset management directives and procedures. Managing, regulating and coordinating assigned personal property/assets, supplies and equipment within CBP. Preserving storage records and develops data for inventory reports. Monitoring the flow of materials from original and subsequent acquisition, shipment and storage, to final distribution.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing and tracking the distribution of supplies and equipment. Identifying shelf life of inventory items based upon analysis and usage of items. Maintaining storage records and developing data for inventory reports. Performing inventories, identifying discrepancies, conducting searches for missing items or equipment, and reconciling inventory and stock levels.
