This National Guard position is for a INSPECTOR GENERAL, Position Description Number T5868000 and is part of the PA 171st Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.

Duties
As a INSPECTOR GENERAL, GS-1801-13, you will plan, direct, and manage the programs of the wing Inspector General office. Serve as an independent Inspector General in management of the Air Force Complaints Resolution, IG Investigations, Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA), and Whistleblower Reprisal program. Manage, administer, plan, and execute the Inspection System and Commanders Inspection Program. Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Train employee(s) in assigned duties and responsibilities. Represent the Inspector General office and programs with a variety of wing and functional area organizations.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience in working with pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which affect the use of the Inspector General Programs; applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations; working various command entities involved in overall planning and execution of operations, inspections, and evaluations; plans and programs that require analysis of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, productivity, and developing recommendations to resolve issues and problems; applying knowledge of organizational operations to affect the adequacy of complex systems, programs, and strategic planning efforts and identifying criteria to measure and/or predict the execution of program or organizational goals and objectives.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate 36 months experience in planning for and executing inspector general programs and using software data systems. Experienced in the procedures to inspect and report on the state of discipline program efficiency and effectiveness, and readiness of military and civilian forces. Experiences involved work as the primary inspector general advisor with responsibilities to plan, direct, and manage inspector general programs. Experienced in conducting investigations and inspections to ensure compliance with agency policies, practices, and regulations. Experienced in providing policy, guidance, oversight, and directions for the inspection programs; complaints resolution; Fraud, Waste, and Abuse; strategic plans and programs; and the Commander's Inspection Program. Experience in planning and scheduling work in a manner that promotes smooth flow and even distribution of assigning work requirements; experience in training and guiding employees on programs and through assigned tasks; experience in balancing office case work-loads and providing advice, guidance, and direction on a wide range of policies, investigative requirements, inspection formats, exercise strategies, strategic planning, and administrative issues; experience in structuring assignments to create effective and efficient procedures that resulted in measuring improved task processes. Previous supervisory experiences created improvements in training applications and career development that resulted in the employees' increased performance values in quality work, timeliness considerations, and work efficiencies.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
