As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding. Serves as Deputy Director, Technical Operations of Service Area and reports directly to the Director, Technical Operations of Service Area.
Duties
Incumbent maintains line management authority in the absence of and in conjunction with the Director overseeing and directing installation, maintenance, and modification of all technical systems and equipment in the National Airspace Systems (NAS) within the Service Area of Operations.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
- A one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be required.
- Some, all or none of the eligible and qualified applicants may be interviewed.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-K or FG/GS-15 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience for this position: Experience in aviation technical knowledge gained through experience in design, deployment, or performance evaluation of systems, facilities or components of the NAS. In addition, experience may include design, project management or construction administration on projects or programs in FAA, US Military, or other public or private sector infrastructure development efforts.Additionally, Well-Qualified candidates will possess documented experience in the following areas:1. Experience providing senior level expertise in the management of an aviation operational organization.2. Knowledge of national policies, procedures, and practices governing technical operations such as installation, maintenance and modification of all systems and equipment in the National Airspace System (NAS).Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
