As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as Deputy Director for the Office of Airports, Airports Division Western Pacific Region.
Duties
Serves as Deputy Director for the Office of Airports, Airports Division Western-Pacific Region responsible for the planning, formulation, direction, implementation, and evaluation of a variety of Airports programs/projects in the Region. This includes programs such as part 139 safety and certification, airport and system planning, capacity management, environmental processing, financial assistance programs (Airport Improvement Program and Passenger Facility Program), and compliance requirements.

- A one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be required.

- This is not a remote position. The incumbent is expected to report to the assigned duty station for this position.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-K/FG-15. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience is experience leading and developing employees and directing technical or management-level involvement in processes related to transportation capital improvement program planning, environmental review of transportation infrastructure development, and/or surface transportation or aviation-related financial processes.You should include relevant examples of specialized experience in your work history. Serves as the technical advisor to the Executive Director and in his/her absence serves as the technical advisor to the Associate Administrator for Airports. Possesses the ability to create positive working relationships to ensure coordinated responses with counterparts at the appropriate levels of the Airports organization, along with other organizations to enable problem solving at the lowest level.Work is typically governed by established policies, procedures and mission objectives which leave considerable room for discretion. Provides guidance to subordinate managers and employees for preventing and resolving problems without the intervention of higher level management except where LOB/SO or FAA-wide interests are at stake. Develops and approves solutions to current and anticipated problems which cross organizational lines and disciplines. In doing so, considers technical, budgetary, regulatory, and political issues that involve other organizations inside and outside the FAA.May participate in developing solutions to FAA-wide problems. Conducts succession planning to ensure the organization has qualified and well trained staff to take on leadership roles. Ensures staff has the appropriate leadership training and develops staff to take on leadership roles in the organization.
