This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA). The incumbent serves as Chief of Staff to the Director of White House Information Technology (D/WHIT) serving in a confidential advisory role on all White House Information Technology (WHIT) policy and program matters, providing background information and serving as a communications channel on various special tasks involving the Executive Branch and external affairs of the office.
Duties
As a Chief of Staff, GS-0301-15, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Participates in the development and articulation of the vision, goals, objectives, and policies that pertain to a variety of administrative operations, including legal, budgeting, manpower/personnel, and communications.
Prepares and reviews policy papers, memoranda and correspondence for the Director to ensure consistency and quality, and to assist and coordinate the implementation of policy initiatives.
Coordinates and reviews the activities of assigned staff and/or working group members.
Develops and executes critical internal operating initiatives that will have substantial impact on the OD/WHIT and other Executive agencies affected by the OD/WHIT programs.
Carries out priority assignments, studies, and projects personally assigned by the Director on a variety of complex sensitive matters.
Performs a full range of supervisory duties and responsibilities.

- The agency requires 30 days on site before being eligible to participate in the telework program on a ad-hoc basis.
- Extended work hours may be required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirement:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector which includes: 1-Developing and delivering briefings to a wide variety of audiences; 2-Developing and maintaining strategic plans; and 3-Leading, directing and coordinating office agendas, special projects, policy, budget, and programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
