The position is located within the FAA, Aviation Safety (AVS), Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM), Aerospace Medical Education Division. The Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM) develops and manages medical programs in support of Aviation Safety.

Duties

As a member of the Airmen Education Physiological Training or Global Survival Training Program for FAA Flight Crew, performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a team leader or more experienced team member and is responsible for planning, developing, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive nationwide Physiological Training or Global Survival Training Program for FAA flight crew. This training is conducted at the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI).

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Pre-employment physical may be required.
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify at the FV-H (FG/GS-12) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-G (FG/GS-10/11) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes: analyzing training programs to identify knowledge gaps or deficiencies; developing evaluative methods, procedures and standards to analyze education and training needs for employee development; determining the need for and initiating changes/updates in course content due to technological changes or new developments in the field; consulting with management to develop strategies, policies, or procedures to improve the development and design of training programs.ANDQuality Ranking Factor (QRF): Well qualified applicants will demonstrate knowledge of aviation oxygen systems and demonstrate experience teaching aerospace physiology, hypoxia, spatial disorientation, post-crash survival skills, and night vision goggles within their resume.ANDPhysical Requirements: You must be able to perform efficiently the essential functions of the position without hazard to yourself or others. Selectee must possess or have the ability to pass a FAA Class II Physical Examination.Applicants should provide examples of Specialized Experience in their Work History.
