About the Position: This position is located at McDonald Army Health Center in Fort Eustis, Virginia.
Duties
Receive all visitors and telephone calls for the executive staff.
Address a variety of matters to include patient and major unit commanders' medical complaints requiring command attention.
Maintain executive staff calendars of official and social engagements.
Review correspondence prepared by other departments and reviews for format, accuracy of typing and grammar, adequacy of attachments, and general policy compliance prior to signature or dispatch.
Independently arrange travel for executive and senior staff by requesting Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) orders, obtaining transportation tickets and billet accommodations and transportation.
Compose correspondence such as letters of congratulation, appreciation or condolence for executive staff signature.
Approve timecards for assigned staff.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes receiving visitors, maintaining calendars, scheduling appointments, and reviewing and processing reports or documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
