This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U. S. Coast Guard, 8th District, Planning and Force Readiness Division, New Orleans, LA.
Duties
In the position, you will be responsible for overseeing the conception, planning, coordination, and execution of all hazard/all threats contingencies including but not limited to: Area Maritime Security Planning (AMSP); Area Contingency Planning, Mass Rescue Planning; Salvage and Recovery Planning; Continuity of Operations Planning; Combatant Commander Planning and Operations Planning

Qualifications
GS-12: one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal sector related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: Overseeing coordination of preparedness activities including exercise development and conduct, planning, training, remedial action for full range of CG contingencies; creating CG planning/exercise publications, directives and Operations Orders; fostering relationships with appropriate intergovernmental preparedness entities to improve contingency planning and exercise development.
This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of management and organizational techniques and procedures applied to performing a variety of analytical studies and projects related to long-range planning sufficient to analyze and develop guidance and reports regarding preparedness planning for proposed hazard/threat contingency exercises and plans.
