The Center provides an essential link between the policy & academic communities by creating programs & communication opportunities that examine current & emerging challenges confronting the United States and the world. It is a non-partisan/non-advocacy institution supported by both public & private funds.
Duties
The incumbent of this position serves as a Human Resources Specialist reporting to the Human Resources Director. The organizational title is HR Specialist (Staffing/Classification).
Qualifications
Specialized Experience: GS-12: You must have at least one full-time year (12-months) of specialized work experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service that provided experience applying a wide range of HR regulations, policies, and procedures sufficient to provide management advisory and technical services in staffing, recruitment, placement; writing job analysis, assessment questions, and vacancy announcements for recruitment actions; reviewing employment applications for minimum qualification requirements; and preparing referral certificates.GS-13: You must have at least one full-time year (12-months) of specialized work experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing the full range of staffing, recruitment, placement; revising new or revised HR policy to determine impact to an organization; preparing HR guidance; performing studies on complex HR topics that cross functional lines; or participating in audit evaluations of staffing activities.Certification: An active Delegated Examining certificate from OPM is desirable.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
