The incumbent performs work of specialized technicality and provides administrative and clerical support of considerable difficulty for the smooth operation of the My HealtheVet (MHV) Program at the VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS).
Duties
Major Duties:
Recognize the dimensions of Virtual Care programmatic issues, collect the necessary information regarding the issue, establish the facts surrounding the issue and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
Dealing with the operations, regulations, principles, and peculiarities of Virtual Care/MHV.
Thorough understanding of the interrelationships of complex guidelines, regulations, and procedure or operations that govern Virtual Care programs, including MHV and Telehealth; Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods for monitoring, tracking, and analysis of data for reviewing, auditing and reporting activities; Knowledge of improvement processes and administrative operations; Knowledge of and ability to plan and develop objectives for coordination of MHV;
Organization, administrative, and clinical services, and support services to assist Veterans seeking information regarding Virtual Care programs.
Use computer software to carry out tasks such as word processing, database management, and email communication. Skills of a qualified typist are required.
Serve as timekeeper for service

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/02/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
Typing: Applicants for this position must possess a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute. Words per minute are based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Applicants may meet this requirement by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years. Agencies may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test.
In addition to the typing requirement, you may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performing clerical/administrative duties in an office environment; answering and directing phone calls; preparing correspondence; maintaining files/records; time and attendance; Human Resources functions; using a computer to perform a variety of support tasks. At this grade level, applicants should have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to perform assignments independently with minimal oversight. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.

Physical Requirements: The work is generally sedentary. The incumbent may do some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items such as files, papers, brochures, binders, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
