This position is located at US Mint,Headquarters - Manufacturing Department/PLAN AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT DIVISION, Office of Production Management, Manufacturing Planning Division. As a Production Planning & Control Specialist, you will be responsible for the planning of circulating and numismatic coinage production.

Duties

As a Production Planning & Control Specialist, you will: Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the logistical actions required to support circulating coinage and/or numismatic products production. Maintain critical production information which includes: finished products and coin inventories, current and historical production figures, work in process, and production reports necessary to the daily management of numismatic coin production. Develop raw material and component requirements, monitor inventories, and interface with the Supply Management group to coordinate requirements and schedule deliveries. Provide logistical and planning support for Mint wide initiatives to improve the Mint's ability to respond to customer requirements, initiate just in time inventory strategies with its raw materials and work in process, more effectively produce numismatic products, reduce waste and error coins, and streamline the entire coin production and distribution process.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. We must be able to verify this experience in your resume in order for you to receive credit. Specialized experience for the GS-13 is one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as: -Experience in Production planning in a manufacturing or production environment to support business performance objectives. (example: coordinating production workflow for finished goods, sub-assemblies and parts within a manufacturing production environment/ Experience in the use of Material and Requirements Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning system, as well as managing the production and inventory of finished goods); AND -Experience in planning production in accordance with business and strategic objectives, set priorities, determine resource requirements, determine short- and long-term goals, and strategies to achieve them; AND -Experience interpreting written material, including technical material such as, rules, regulations, instructions, reports, charts, graphs, or tables; AND -Experience in providing logistical and planning support. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
