About the Position: Serve as the Administrative Specialist for assigned Directorate in the Headquarters South Pacific Division. Responsible for providing evaluation and advice to the Director and directorate Division Chiefs on methods and procedures involved with administrative support systems.

Duties
Conduct research on work processes to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to administrative function of the Directorate Office.
Examine documents and other instruments, insuring completeness of information and conformance to pertinent complex rules, regulations, precedents and office procedures.
Receive visitors and telephone calls for the Director.
Arrange conferences, makes appointments, and ensures the Director meets such commitments by reminding them or by arranging for appropriate staff members to represent him during his unexpected absence.
Provide administrative support to the Directorate’s Division Chiefs and approximately 30 staff members on such matters as maintaining suspense controls, submitting supply requisitions, transportation request, travel orders, etc.
Prepare travel and labor cost estimates, funding justifications, and submits travel funding requests.
Serve as the principal point of contact on the suite of office automation tools.
Participate in all fiscal functions involving the establishment of operating budget for the Office of the Director based on general budget guidance memorandums issued by the Business Resources Division and historical data.
Review all travel orders and travel vouchers submitted for approval to ensure they are accurate.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing, and revising correspondences in accordance with local policies, coordinating visits, schedule meetings, and managing calendars; creating and amending travel arrangements; and assisting in administering a training program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Human Resource Management field of study.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
