Duties

You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration. You will work perform functions such as: formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities. You will review and evaluate budget requests; control and reporting of obligations and expenditures. You will assist in the development, determination, and interpretation of budgetary policies and practices. You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization’s programs and administrative operations. You will implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets. You will provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization’s programs and activities. You will perform a variety of other fiscal, accounting, or financial management duties and responsibilities.

  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • You may be required to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public performing financial management analysis using knowledge of the concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of budgeting and budgetary policies to perform the following: 1) Advising on work in the phases or systems of budget administration. 2) Formulating budgets and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before senior personnel or authorities. 3) Reviewing and evaluating budget requests to control and report obligations and expenditures. 4) Analyzing and recommending costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations. 5) Implementing legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets. 6) Advising on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities.
