DFC ranked a Best Places to Work in 2022. This position is part of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Office of the Chief Development Officer . As aa Associate Development Specialist you will serve as a staff level liaison between the OCDO and other DFC, interagency, U.S. embassy, and development partner teams.

Duties

Supports the Chief Development Officer with projects that are co-designed with USAID or other U.S. Government Agencies, providing technical assistance to advance development outcomes and enhance strategic relationships. The incumbent applies appropriate quantitative and qualitative analytical methods and tools to collect, arrange, process, and present data; interpret data, develop conclusions, and make recommendations. Facilitates cooperation between DFC and other U.S. Government agencies on interagency initiatives, briefings, overseas delegations planning, and related travel logistics. Develops plans, reports, and evaluations related to development finance initiatives in emerging markets. Provides feedback to Leads on development issues related to international financing to support long-term strategy development. Please Note: This is Not a Bargaining unit position.

• Must be a recent college graduate who received a baccalaureate or graduate degree from an institution of higher education, not later than two years after the date on which the individual received their degree.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes researching and summarize economic and political environments in foreign countries; analytical methods, procedures, and techniques to conduct analyses, provide recommendations, and prepare presentations related to international development; skill in conducting market and policy research, analyzing findings, and developing recommendations. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B, or J.D., if related, in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Organizational Management and Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, and Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
