Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Office of Communication in Washington, D.C.
At the full performance level (GS-13) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Produce a wide range of visual communication products, illustrations, photography, special designs, video and layouts from conception to production. Perform desktop publishing, infographics, multi-media projects (including video), and web graphic design.
Provides expertise to effectively advise management/program officials on graphics, digital,video and multimedia products. Helps identify opportunities for interior and bureaus for digital communications, provides support for digital video methods, practices, and techniques.
Helps keep the DOI.gov, OneINTERIOR intranet site, and other websites produced by the Office of Communications up to date. Functions as a contributing editor for Department-managed websites. Assist in coordinating the writing, production, and posting of new content items to the DOI.gov homepage, interior pages and OneINTERIOR.
Assist with the posting of press materials to Interior's website and act as a final copy editor/proofreader.
Promote digital content and public and employee emails using GovDelivery and Interior's email system. Help deliver press material through GovDelivery and other systems.
Uses analytic metric tools to analyze, quantify, monitor, and measure metrics.
The Office of the Secretary has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Salary Information
GS-13: $117,962 (Step 1) - $153, 354 (Step 10) per annum.
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-13, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1. developing and managing a wide range of visual communication products, including original content creation, through various electronic media, including web-based, digital, multimedia and video; AND
2. utilizing multiple computer systems and application such as Adobe Creative Suites, Drupal, and/or SharePoint to produce digital and/or print communications from conception to production; AND
3. conducting work that involved analyzing and resolving problems as they relate to the design and visualization of web/visual content.
