About the Position: This position is located in Dahlonega, GA. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training.
Duties
Controls, prepares, issues identification badges, cards, and passes that allow access of civilian, military, contractor personnel, and visitors on to the installation, and verify and authenticate installation issued badges.
Allows entrance to persons and vehicles that display proper authorization.
Controls access of vehicles and pedestrians to installation.
Operates and performs research queries on the National Crime Information Center (NCIC/NCCIC) workstation terminal(s) in accordance with (IAW) federal and state laws.
Operates two-way communications equipment to summon emergency vehicles and crews when assistance is needed.
Maintains duty journal and prepares written reports of unusual situations and conditions encountered.
Sets up and maintains visitor control roster and badges accountability log, which is subject to quarterly and annual reviews and inventories.
Answers brief visitor questions, determines whether appropriate authorization for access exists, and provides assistance to personnel.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminals.
- Meet the requirements of Individual Reliability Program in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 190-56.
- Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
- Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
- Incumbent must undergo and pass annual medical exams of physical, emotional and mental stability.
- Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
- Incumbent must successfully complete CPR certification and First Aid training.
- Incumbent may be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.
- Incumbent will be required to pass entry level and annual re-certification of standard Army physical fitness/agility test.
- Incumbent must wear prescribed uniform.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.
- Incumbent will carry and deploy a riot baton, carry a protective shield and employ non-lethal ammunitions if necessary.
- Incumbent will be required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual physical agility test (PAT)as outline is Army Regulation 190-56.
