Duties
You will be a subject matter expert in architectural history as it relates to the planning, management, analysis and preservation of the built environment and related resources consistent with the military mission and applicable federal regulations.
You will provide cultural resources products and services to support the accomplishment of military actions and operations in compliance with cultural resources laws, regulations, and policies with a focus on NHPA Section 106 and NEPA compliance.
You will support, guide, and coordinate completion of cultural resources analyses for NEPA documents (such as complex EAs and EISs) to ensure integration with cultural resources laws and regulations, Executive Orders and DoD/DON policies.
You will manage historic resource programs addressing enterprise-wide efforts, development and implementation of Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plans, and the collection and processing of program metrics.
You will assist in the data collection and analysis necessary for planning, programming, and budgeting of cultural resources requirements, as well as the establishment of program priorities to support program execution.
You will coordinate and collaborate with other agencies, organizations, and DoD/DON commands on policy and program matters related to historic preservation and the built environment.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing cultural resources and/or evaluating historic buildings, structures and/or landscapes with a focus on compliance with National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) Section 106; 2) Developing policy and procedures for the proper management, protection, and sustainability of historic buildings, structures, and/or landscapes; 3) Providing subject matter expertise to ensure compliance with federal laws and regulations such as National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and/or Secretary of Interior Standards for Treatment of Historic Building and Structures; and 4) Consulting and/or coordinating with State Historic Preservation Officers (SHPO), local government, historical societies, and/or other stakeholders. Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:
Successful completion of a bachelor's degree or higher in history; or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history.
Or
Have a combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
