THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D2240P01. If you would like the complete list of duties, please contact the POC of this announcement.

Duties

Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integrated systems. Reviews and analyzes maintenance data; determines if criteria are sufficient to provide adequate test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; devises and recommends tests, procedural changes, or data corrections. Troubleshoots operational malfunctions and analyzes system performance. Recommends methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures. May upload and download chaff/flare dispensers. May be required to perform additional duties such as structural fire-fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, serve as a security guard, ETC. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.

Qualifications

MILITARY GRADES: E3 through E5 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 2A374 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience that prepares the applicant to perform the duties of the position. The applicant's educational-degree study program or specific academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience. An applicant must demonstrate the identified specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, abilities and behaviors) to qualify for a FWS 2610 position as identified by its applicable grade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months of specialized working experiences in performing, training and/or supervising assigned integrated systems repair and maintenance work operations. Must have working and training experiences in the maintenance, repair, and modification of integrated multi-complex avionics systems. Skilled in planning tasks for subordinate workers and expanded knowledge in using the equipment, facilities and materials. Skilled in meeting deadlines, in using time management to satisfy priorities and work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors. Experiences included redirecting individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work.
