As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.The incumbent serves as the Deputy Division Manager for the Air Traffic Division at the FAA Academy, AMA-501.

Duties

The incumbent reports to and works closely with the Air Traffic Division Manager to identify and address operational concerns by providing possible managerial alternatives, along with their impacts on current or proposed technical or administrative programs.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Must submit a completed FAA Form 3330-43: Rating of Air Traffic Experience
  • A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required.
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J (FG/GS-14) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized Experience includes: Experience leading people and/or programs in an Air Traffic Control Facility (Terminal/Tower/EnRoute); experience overseeing administrative programs; experience directing the work activities of subordinates; experience managing large projects that affect multiple functional lines; experience collaborating with a variety of governmental organizations and labor unions; and/or experience preparing responses to issues/inquiries related to Air Traffic Training, etc.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.Applicants should provide examples of specialized experience in their work history.
