You will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator and operate trucks, buses, wreckers, vehicles with power take-offs (i.e. sweepers), and forklifts. This position is located in the Southwest Regional Transportation Division, Operations Branch, of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. The duty station is MCAS Miramar, San Diego, CA.
Duties
You will operate trucks, buses, wreckers, vehicles with power take-offs (i.e. sweepers), and forklifts.
You will transport cargo and passengers.
You will operate runway, street, and vacuum sweepers
You will complete trip tickets and accident reports (if needed)
You will perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections and report identified issues.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You must possess and maintain a Class "B" (or higher) CDL with Passenger (P) endorsement. A copy of your CDL should be provided with your application.
- You must obtain a U.S. Government Vehicle Operator's Permit for all assigned vehicles and equipment, including forklifts.
- You must complete all assigned training and obtain and maintain all required certifications.
- You must pass pre-employment physical.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random drug testing.
- You must be able to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

The Screen-out Element for this position is the ability to perform the duties of a Motor Vehicle Operator as demonstrated by experience working under normal supervision operating motor vehicles including buses and/or trucks over public roads at highway speeds, and in congested traffic; monitoring the loading/unloading of passengers; cargo; judging overhead and side clearances, turning radius, and braking distance from the preceding vehicle; ensuring that cargo is properly secured; understanding and applying safety rules and regulations, using defensive driving techniques; conducting pre and post trip vehicle inspections; performing operator level maintenance, as directed; completing trip tickets and accident reports (as needed); and possession of a Class B (or higher) Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement.
