This position is located in Lisle, Illinois, Region III, Division of Operating Reactor Safety. The supervisor is Nestor Feliz Adorno. This position is in the Bargaining Unit with the National Treasury Employees Union, Chapter 208.

Duties
As an Administrative Assistant, you will perform a wide range of administrative and secretarial functions to support the operations of the division. Duties include but are not limited to: Reviews, handles, and controls incoming correspondence. Proofreads and edits material for correct grammar, correctness and completeness and conformity with format, style, and appearance as set forth by the Commission, division or office procedures. Utilizing a variety of software programs (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.) in performing assigned work. Handling sensitive documents in accordance with Privacy Act requirements and NRC security regulations. Coordinates the submission of time and labor input within assigned branches in the current agency reporting system, ensuring all payroll units are completed and certified within established time frames. Prepares travel and lodging reservations and prepares travel authorization request and vouchers for official travel, facilitates property management, arranges for and schedules meetings and conferences, maintain files, obtain, and maintain the screening of incoming mail and telephone calls for subject matter, urgency, and importance for professional personnel. Serves as a liaison between branch chiefs and other divisions, offices, or branches in administrative matters. Occasionally serves in absence of the lead Administrative Assistant and administrative staff in other Region III divisions.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience, beyond high school, performing a wide range of administrative and secretarial functions such as preparing correspondence, scheduling appointments, arranging travel, etc., including on year which must be equivalent to the GS/GG-6 grade level in the Federal service.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as: Demonstrated experience performing a wide range of administrative and secretarial functions, such as preparing and proofreading correspondence, scheduling appointments, maintaining supervisor's calendar, arranging travel, etc. Experience in the use of office automation tools such as Microsoft Office 365 Applications, automated time keeping system, automated travel system, etc. Such experience must have provided you with full range of knowledge, skills and abilities identified for what is considered and "Ideal Candidate" for this position. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
1. Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and correspondence procedures sufficient to prepare correspondence of an administrative nature, reports of a technical nature, and review outgoing material for correctness, proper format, and completeness.
2. Demonstrated proficiency with the use of advanced features for complex formatting in microcomputer-bases word processing applications, including Microsoft (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Appointment Calendar). Presentation applications, and other database applications (i.e., maintaining, and automated tracking systems).
3. Demonstrated initiative and ability to provide administrative support and coordination in a variety of areas (time and attendance reporting, security, records management, travel scheduling etc.).
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in handling multiple assignments with competing priorities, often under considerable pressure to meet deadlines.
5. In a team environment, demonstrated ability to effectively communicated orally and in writing, ability to deal tactfully, efficiently, and professionally with all levels of personnel.
