About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Sill, OK.
Duties
Create training information for safety classes to increase employee safety awareness.
Conduct evaluations of unit/activity facilities/equipment to determine compliance with applicable safety regulations.
Provide professional guidance to subordinate commanders/activity directors in the formulation, organization, and maintenance of accident prevention programs.
Assure investigations and analysis are performed on all accidents and injuries to determine their causes and contributing factors.
Compile and analyze mishap statistics and reports to identify adverse trends and to determine systemic causes and counter measures.
Prepare final reports that outline program and operational, facility and systematic safety and health deficiencies to management officials.
Write local policies, procedures, and regulations that ensure compliance with higher headquarters safety and occupational health directives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Temporary duty travel of 25% may be required.
- This is an Emergency Essential position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: developing and implementing safety program to reduce accidents and occupational illnesses; evaluating new and existing jobs to determine the existence or probability of hazards; and ensuring investigations and analysis are performed on all accidents and injuries to determine their causes and contributing factors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
