Duties
If selected at the GS-06 level, the below responsibilities will be performed in a developmental capacity.
Conducts physical count of assets to verify the record balance.
Conducts graduating levels of research in determining the basis for over, short, or misplaced items.
Conducts extensive and exhaustive research for information and reconstructs records for complex supply transactions.
Performs location surveys and/or physical inventories which may include assets in more than one material owner account, and may require rapid response to meet mission needs.
Responds to material manager and/or owner requests for material inspections.
Perform in-depth research and analysis of discrepancies as a result of inventories, denials, inventory balance and/or location discrepancies relevant to receipt, shipment and storage transactions.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supply Technician, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-06 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
GS-06:
Conducting physical inventories and location surveys
Investigating stock/record/material discrepancies impacting inventory balances
Preparing reports concerning results of investigations performed
GS-07:
Performing research to resolve inventory discrepancies
Conducting physical inventories and location surveys
Preparing various written reports concerning research and investigations performed
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Physical Demands: Work is performed on hard surfaces and in areas that regularly require walking, standing, stooping, reaching, bending, lifting,and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Required to wear safety shoes and other appropriate safety equipment when operating MHE and performing day-to-day tasks. On occasion, climb ladders, work on safety pallets, lift objects, crawl, and/or enter restricted areas. Work frequently requires handling items weighing up to 40 pounds. If moving or lifting 40 pounds or more, obtain assistance from co-workers and/or utilize lifting devices.
Work Environment: Work is performed within a warehousing environment. Work is usually performed inside in areas that are hot, cold, or damp;but may also involve working in outside storage areas. Individual may be exposed to dusty, dirty or greasy conditions.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
