The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior logistics management specialist and organizational focal point for the Depot Maintenance Activation Working Group (DMAWG) in support of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment.

Duties

Serves as the focal point for planning, management, and coordination of logistics support for a major weapon system or subsystem. Serves as senior Logistics Specialist for development of assessment criteria. Represents Logistics Directorate within a variety of installation and functional area organization activities. Prepares staff studies and presents briefings in conferences or task groups.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes planning, managing, and coordinating on logistics supply chain support for an assigned major system or subsystem, integrating separate functions of supply, maintenance, spares procurement, and quality assurance into logistics activities required to sustain fielded systems. In addition, serve as a logistics management specialist in support of sustainment phases of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of theories and principles of systems design, specifications development techniques; and an understanding of acquisition and maintenance requirements as well as organizational functions involved in logistical support. 2. Knowledge of theories and principles of lntegrated Logistics Support (ILS) planning, development, and execution sufficient to coordinate and integrate functions into a total, well structured, and viable program. 3. Broad knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense, Air Force, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the sustainment process of integrated life cycle logistics. 4. Knowledge of business, industrial management, contracting procedures, technical concepts, production practices to evaluate organic, contractor proposals, and activities. 5. Ability to plan, organize, and control critical aspects of research, development, production, and support of systems, subsystems or equipment, and integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of acquisition functions in support of the process. 6. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning the efficiency, effectiveness, and cost of program operations. 7. Ability to establish pcrfomlance goals and assess progress toward their achievement. 8. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
