About the Position: The Security Assistant performs clerical and assistant tasks in support of the Womack Army Medical Center security program. The work requires general administrative and clerical skills, practical knowledge of specific security objectives, programs, methods and procedures, and skill in carrying out support tasks related to security administration. Areas of responsibility include access control, security force support, and administrative assistance.

Duties

Responsible for ensuring compliance with the established procedures for issue and control of security badges. Prepare and issues identification badges, cards, and passes that allow faculty access of civilian, military, contractors, and visitors. Provide office automation support to the Security Office. Maintain files used to provide control of sensitive information. Provide guidance and information on security regulations and procedures. Conduct inspections of the Emergency Operation Center to ensure all components are functioning property.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • May be required to work evenings/nights, rotating shifts, extended hours, weekends, holidays or other schedules common to security operations.
  • A favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) may be required for this position.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
