The primary purpose of this position is to perform receipt, storage, issue, and replenishment of technical equipment, office furniture, office machines, and/or other nonexpendable property and a wide variety of supplies.
Duties
Provides supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for equipment, parts, and a wide variety of supply items.
Maintains property accounts and records, completing individual transactions, screening reference files, conducting data searches, and distributing output files.
Performs document control work involved in the processing of supply transactions.
Provides assistance to customers, storage depots, or other organizations.
Performs general clerical support work. Maintains and annotates files providing for easy and timely retrieval/location of material.
Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, Supply Clerical and Technician Series 2005.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned. Familiarity with one or more automated supply databases to enter, correct, and retrieve recurring reports, and to structure and retrieve specialized reports. Sound working knowledge of the structure of the local supply organization and the organizations serviced. Knowledge of a range of standard clerical assignments and to resolve recurring problems. Knowledge of various office automation software processing procedures and function keys and the similarities and differences among software types to produce a wide range of documents, such as graphics or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronic drafts, and to update and revise existing databases or spreadsheets. Knowledge of standard office equipment, such as electric/electronic typewriters, copiers, fax machines, and office automation systems to perform a substantial range of office automation support.

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-04 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-05 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods.
Knowledge of policies and procedures for requisitioning and stock control.
Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures; data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system; and various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
Skill in typing; a qualified typist is required.
Ability to research, compile, and analyze supply information and data; receive, screen, review, verify, and maintain supply documents; and resolve discrepancies.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
