About the Position: This position serves as a working leader for a Fork Lift Operator (Materials Handler) position assigning tasks to be performed; working along with other workers and setting the pace; demonstrating proper work methods, and ensuring all plans, blueprints, materials and tools are available.
Duties
Plan distribution, follow deadlines, and sequence of work on day to day or project basis for subordinates.
Explain all work requirements, methods, procedures, specific hazards and safety precaution to all personnel.
Ensure all personnel, materials and equipment required for operations are at designated work site.
Review work in progress and upon completion.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
- This position is a Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as Lautenberg Amendment. This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
- This position meets the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing.
- This position requires an Arms, Ammunition and Explosives Security Certification/Screening in accordance AR 190-11.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Fork Lift Operator (Materials Handler) Leader without more than normal supervision. Perform common working leader duties; laying out assignments for others, demonstrating how to set up and operate equipment and tools, inspecting others work, giving directions to a number of employees, checking work for compliance and providing status reports to supervisor. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort
Stands, stoops, bends, and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for prolonged periods. Frequently lifts and carries material that weigh up to 60 pounds, and at times may handle items, with help, weighing over 60 pounds. Good color vision is necessary for proper identification of different types of ammunition by color code. All lifts over 50 pounds will be assisted with a two person lift or using a mechanical handling equipment lifting device. The two person lift limit is 100 pounds and will only be used for single event, non-routine lifts.
Working Conditions
Works inside and outside and subject to heat, cold, damp, drafty or poorly lighted areas. Work may be dirty and dusty. Exposed to danger of explosion and fire while working with explosives, chemicals and loaded ammunition. There is a chance of injuries ranging from loss of life or limbs to burns, cuts, bruises, skin irritations, sprains, and fractures.
