About the Position: Serves as a working leader for a Fork Lift Operator (Materials Handler) position assigning tasks to be performed; working along with other workers and setting the pace; demonstrating proper work methods, and ensuring all plans, blueprints, materials and tools are available.
This is a Bargaining Unit Position AR3135
Duties
Plans distribution, follows deadlines and sequence of work on day to day or project basis for subordinates.
Ensures all personnel, materials and equipment required for operations are at designated work site.
Explain all work requirements, methods, procedures, specific hazards and safety precaution to all personnel.
Operate material handling equipment to move and store explosives or ammunition components.
Reviews work in progress and upon completion.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position meets the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain an Arms, Ammunition and Explosives Security Certification Screening.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment and bans individuals from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.

PHYSICAL EFFORT
Stands, stoops, bends, and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for prolonged periods. Frequently lifts and carries material that weigh up to 60 pounds, and at times may handle items, with help, weighing over 60 pounds. Good color vision is necessary for proper identification of different types of ammunition by color code.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works inside and outside and subject to heat, cold, damp, drafty or poorly lighted areas. Work may be dirty and dusty. Exposed to danger of explosion and fire while working with explosives, chemicals and loaded ammunition. There is a chance of injuries ranging from loss of life or limbs to burns, cuts, bruises, skin irritations, sprains, and fractures.
