You will serve as a FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECH) in the Fire and Emergency Services of NAS PENSACOLA. Pay Range for GS-07: $44,117- $57,354 Pay Range for GS-06: $49,025- $63,733

Duties

You will administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillation (AED) for a patient. You will operate firefighting equipment (e.g., pumps, foam generators, boom, ground sweep nozzles) to control or eliminate fires. You will establish on-scene control procedures (e.g., zone control, decontamination) in a hazardous material incident. You will position firefighting vehicles in consideration of external factors (e.g., wind direction, sources of water, hazards from falling structures, location of armament on aircraft).

• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• This position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
• This current work schedule is a 144 hour bi-weekly schedule working a 48 hours on 72 hours off.

Qualifications

For GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department/brigade; 2) Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents; 5) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles; and 6) Performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures.
