You will serve as a FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECHNICIAN) in the Navy Fire & Emergency Services of NAS PENSACOLA to include NAS Whiting Field.

Duties

You will control and extinguish a fire during firefighting operations. You will inspect, test, and maintain firefighting tools, appliances, and equipment to verify operational readiness. You will respond to a high or low angle rescue with engine company or rescue team. You will write reports on fire code violations observed during an inspection.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-6 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Controlling or extinguishing fires; Operating fire communications equipment; Controlling hazardous materials incidents; Developing, implementing, or providing training in fire protection and prevention. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications Firefighter II, HAZMAT Technician, Driver-Operator Pumper, Driver-Operator Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting, Airport Firefighter, and CPR (BLS for Health Care Providers),. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. Also requires National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT).
