About the Position: This position is located USA, AMCOM, TMDE ACTIVITY, PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT DIRORGANIC INDUSTRIAL BASE DIR, REDSTONE ARSENAL, AL. Serves as a calibration specialist in the parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, nucleonic, optical/laser, physical and dimensional standards.
Duties
Provide calibration traceable through the Calibration Laboratory and the Primary Standards Laboratory to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Provide information on test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) accuracies and uncertainties under a variety of conditions.
Perform repairs incidental to calibration as required by equipment specifications.
Provide metrology information for a wide variety of general purpose of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Requires light to moderate physical effort. Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise handles items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally in excess of 40 pounds.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement up to 10% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an PRECISION MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT CALIBRATOR without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, physical and dimensional standards and measurements applicable to the calibration, certification and evaluation of unusually complex high precision calibration laboratory reference standards. I can calibrate customer test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) requiring measurement. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work assignments require light to moderate physical effort. Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise handles items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally in excess of 40 pounds. Works in a sitting position for extended periods of time, and frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in well lighted, heated and ventilated areas. May be exposed to hazards of high voltage, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Must comply with applicable safety regulations.
