The Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) San Diego is looking for the best, brightest and most adventurous non-clinical trainers to join our team as Embedded Integrated Prevention Coordinators (EIPC). The EIPC will serve aboard a Nuclear Powered Aircraft Carrier (CVN) or Large Deck Amphibious Assault Ship/ Landing Helicopter Assault Ship (LHD/LHA). The EIPC is assigned to a ship and provides support services to deployed forces both in port or at sea.

Duties

Training Facilitation duties comprise 60% of incumbent's time and include but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • Must meet federal suitability requirements including successful completion of background investigation and obtain/maintain a Secret Security Clearance (T3).
  • A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any scheduled appointments.
  • Due to the unique nature of the position, selectees will be required to complete a physical examination upon entry to duty, and annually thereafter, and be determined to be physically fit for shipboard duty at all times.
  • During deployment, there will be limitations on privacy and activities due to the shipboard environment.
  • Complete a one-year probationary period.
  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation and contain no convictions of sexual assault and domestic violence. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification.
  • This position embarks on and deploys with U.S. Naval vessels and is subject to specific U.S. Naval vessel vaccination requirements, which may include the COVID-19 vaccination.
  • The incumbent will be required to deploy at sea on board US Navy ships. Regions may approve additional compensatory time-off based on a sliding scale depending on length of deployment.
  • At sea, the incumbent shares a stateroom in officer berthing; meals are obtained by joining the Officers' Mess as a paying member, and meals are purchased by monthly billing.

Qualifications

Knowledge and experience in effective prevention program activities to prevent destructive/problematic behaviors. Knowledge, skills, and/or experience that demonstrate the incumbent's ability to work collaboratively to implement integrated prevention programs. Knowledge or experience that demonstrate incumbent's ability to appropriately identify, implement and evaluate prevention methodologies. Knowledge of the military language, customs, and culture to include navigating shipboard dynamics. Knowledge of the psychological and/or socioeconomic stresses caused by prolonged separations, which affect individuals, families, mission performance, and command readiness. Knowledge of FFSP mission, functions, policies, and procedures. Skills sufficient to provide technical assistance in prevention-related areas. Skill in delivery of education services, with a focus on human/personal growth and development. Skill in consulting with management to obtain or exchange information about work objectives, processes, procedures, and policies. Skill in networking and collaborating with all military services. .- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to identify needs, trends, and performance measures to evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for process improvements. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with all levels of management, staff, and military personnel. Ability to compose written reports and material clearly, concisely, and effectively. Ability to deliver evidenced-based prevention training/education to a wide variety of audiences. Ability to use data management and reporting systems to collect and organize data drawn from databases. Ability to maintain accurate statistical framework for program data collection andreports. Ability to meet and deal effectively with diversified groups, organizations and individuals and to maintain and establish clear relationships and lines of communication at all levels using tact and diplomacy in all interactions.
