THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2240P01 and is part of the IL 182 AW, National Guard.

Duties

As a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), WG-2610-13, you will install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Adjust and align system sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, transponders, actuators, servos, computers and other related components. Perform on and off equipment maintenance on systems such as automatic flight control, instruments, communication, navigation, and inertial navigation. Ensure that material and equipment are properly stored, protected and maintained and that funds are not obligated for material or parts without proper justification. Complete operational checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) which are linked with integrated systems and LRUs which are independent or associated with nonintegrated systems. Apply technical data and equipment specifications to determine the impact that equipment modifications or substitutions will have upon integrated multi-system operations and various maintenance alignment procedures. Perform intricate component alignment and calibration to ensure proper system operation. Isolate unusual malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, tools, and test equipment including automatic test equipment and Flight Line Test Systems (FLTS). Use a variety of test equipment such as automatic test equipment (ATE), oscilloscopes, frequency counters, phase-angle voltmeters, optical alignment equipment, digital pitot-static testers, programming units and special purpose test analyzers. Perform flight operational test, adjusts or replaces units or components as required. Install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, align, and calibrate complete electronic avionics multi-systems control. Analyze the malfunctions encountered through fault codes, determines repair sequence process and performs the repairs. Troubleshoot operational malfunctions and analyzes system performance utilizing aircrew debrief data, Technical Orders, schematic and wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, data analysis, common and system-specific test equipment and built in system tests.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence: The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades: Enlisted Only - Minimum rank of SrA. Maximum rank of TSgt. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-13 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 12 months working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-12, and the craftsman level of knowledge and skills to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. Experiences include the ability and skills to perform on-or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on systems such as, automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems; experience in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integrated systems; experience in completing operational checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of line-replaceable-units which are linked with integrated systems and line-replaceable-units which are independent or associated with nonintegrated systems; experience in isolating unusual malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, tools, and test equipment including automatic test equipment and flight line test systems; experience in solving complex problems by analyzing installation, circuitry, and operating characteristics of the systems; experience involving adjusting and aligning system sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, transponders, actuators, servos, computers and other related components; experience in the installation of serviceable components into aircraft and performed total systems alignment and harmonization in accordance with existing technical orders and directives; experience in completing technical order compliances, completing component and system modifications, and performing thorough system checks for correct operations; experience in maintaining, modifying, calibrating, and inspecting a wide variety of user test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment; experience in performing installations, modifications, overhauling, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, aligning, and calibrating complete electronic avionics multi-system controls; a working knowledge of complex aircraft avionics or electronic circuit maintenance systems such as, the electronics package in highly automated aircraft where the integrated flight and integrated countermeasures system, electronic multiplex communications bus, inertial navigation system, multi-function displays, head-up display, data transfer equipment, global positioning system, situation awareness data-link, data modem, flight control system, pivot-static system and related instrumentation, flight director instrumentation, central air data computer, engine, hydraulic and fuel quantity indicating systems, voice message warning, various modes of data, intercom, secure voice communications, identification friend or foe, and tactical air navigation system; experience in evaluating operational characteristics of the integrated systems by observing and analyzing waveforms, voltage, current, power indications, computer registers and printouts; experience in analyzing the malfunctions encountered through fault codes, determining repair sequence process and performing required repairs; experience involving reviewing and analyzing maintenance data; determining if criteria are sufficient to provide adequate test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; devising and recommending tests, procedural changes, or data corrections; experience in performing alignments, adjustments, and conducting final calibrations on integrated systems to determine successful repairs; experience in monitoring the operations of complex, inter-related systems, analyzing operating trends, and proposing preventative maintenance down time; experience in the applications of technical data and equipment specifications that determine the impact equipment modifications or substitutions on integrated multi-system operations and various maintenance alignment procedures; experience in using algebraic and trigonometric functions to adapt standard formulas to the specific requirements of the integrated system; experience involving the installation, operation, and repair work on prototypes or experimental electronic systems such as, inertial navigation or automatic flight control; and experience in advising aerospace engineering personnel on the operation and maintenance effects of proposed time compliance technical orders' modifications on new or existing equipment.
