About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for AcqDemo Business and Technical Management Career Path (NH) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
Develops clear and consistent documentation and procedures of all Systems Applications and Products (SAP) core ECC, ABAP, BOBJ, JAVA, PI, and Portal development activities.
Responsible for discussing and helping the functional teams and customer with their business requirements for a wide range of system and process improvement projects as well as support complex daily operations.
Responsible to meet with the functional teams, the customer, and other system stakeholders for requirements management and alignment with the overall mission and process.
Deliver the requirement by programming in ABAP, JAVA, BOBJ, PI, and Portal development methods.
Review the functional specs written by the functional teams and provide time estimates and development feasibility as well as execute the programming needed, test it, and document it- into technical specifications.
Review junior developers’ technical specifications and provide feedback before development is begun and/or before unit testing.
Coordinate with functional teams to ensure the translation of the functional requirements into technical ones is executed properly and on time.
Build and implement testing plans and procedures for new or existing SAP development components (including testing of service pack upgrades).
Work with and peer review all documents created by junior developers and provide feedback.
Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders during all project phases to ensure technical knowledge is built, shared, and applied to maximize project success.
Perform complex functional and technical troubleshooting to resolve production and performance support issues.
Work closely with the business process owners, the technical team(s), other functional teams, and lead to resolve and document issues.
Meets with primary stakeholders to coordinate the activities of the customer/user teams working on the analysis and provides technical expertise on hardware, software, and architecture.
Applies extensive knowledge to the ERP environment as well as the capabilities of the SAP Web Application Server in order to successfully run SAP applications.
Participates in SAP core ECC, ABAP, BOBJ, JAVA, and PI design sessions for SAP system upgrades, patches, SAP OSS notes execution, or new functionality and enhancement assessments and provide recommendations.
Develop and extend SAP logical and physical data models for design.
Perform technical SAP system configuration when needed.
Introduces SAP" best practices" in the areas of ABAP, JAVA, BOBJ, and PI and Portal development to the customer and work alongside the change management team in order to roll out daily operations/support, project work, and these best practices.

- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management Foundational certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.

Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-02). Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Performing system administration in a SAP Enterprise Resource Planning environment; 2) Completing technical documentation for IT Systems/Software which may include technical specifications, configuration documentation, test scripts, or manuals; 3) Providing guidance on SAP and/or ERP applications; AND 4) Performing SAP maintenance such as upgrades, patches, installation, and/or configuration when needed.
