About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.

Duties

Applies a comprehensive knowledge of supply operations as obtained through experience and study of regulatory guidance, operations, and procedures to analyze user requirements. Attends conferences and meetings which involve procedural and policy development and requirements. Consults with Division chiefs and other using personnel to identify system problems, and coordinates action to eliminate problems and to improve system effectiveness. Advises management and functional personnel on system requirements and limitations to systems to assist users in defining problems and needs. Performs contract specification development, assesses contractor compliance with contract requirements with no professional or technical oversight; purchases items from local private sector.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The incumbent will be required to participate in TDY/TRAVEL less than 25% of the time while occupying this position.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalDecision MakingOral CommunicationPlanning and EvaluatingProblem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
