About the Position: This position monitors, develops work plans and makes recommendations for improvements to operating policies of a complex multi-purpose power project.
Duties
Supervises subordinates to plan daily routine and corrective maintenance for the operation of hydroelectric and flood damage reduction projects.
Assists in the planning of annual generation outage and work plan schedules.
Recommends general operating and maintenance procedures.
Supervises and coordinates the planning section in support of operation and maintenance.
Monitors the performance of required operating features.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in project management and planning of projects associated with the operation and maintenance of large scale industrial facilities such as Hydroelectric, steam plants, shipboard plants, flood control structures, fish facilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement at the GS-12: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
