Foster and Green Peter Dams are located east of Sweet Home Oregon. Both are multipurpose projects and Foster is the central control station for both facilities. These projects provide significant benefits to the public through flood risk reduction, hydropower production, flow management, environmental stewardship and recreation opportunities. You will coordinate with dam safety, water management, hydropower production, and fish passage in balancing planned work and demands on the facilities.
Duties
You will serve as the Operations and Maintenance Manager at a multipurpose Corps of Engineers operation project.
Perform management and technical work involving the overall maintenance of a dam, hydropower/fish/ recreation/visitor facility located in the Willamette Valley Basin.
Participate in the planning and future work of the projects including project rehabilitation.
Represent the Operating Project Manager at meetings to solve problems, exchange information, negotiate agreements and develop support for solutions.
Plan, direct, and coordinate through subordinate supervisors the work of Power Plant Operators, crew foremen, and activities of electrical, mechanical, structural and general maintenance personnel.
Plan and schedule operation and maintenance activities involving all powerhouse and appurtenant features.
Determine the priority and sequence of work, personnel and equipment requirements.
Analyze the work in progress to locate potential and actual problems.
Coordinate new, proposed, and current construction activities at multiple locations.
Manage a multi-year “Operations and Maintenance” and “Capital Improvement” funded budget for operations, maintenance, rehabilitation, and new facilities.
Conduct personnel management of employees through subordinate supervisors and crew foremen, as well as serve as a first line supervisor.
Carry out the full range of supervisory personnel functions required to maintain an effective organization with sound supervisor-employee relationships at all levels.

Qualified applicants must describe in their resume at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in federal service working with power production and related equipment, or power generation, OR flood risk management, river flow management, or management of fish passage.
