You will serve as a Supply Technician (HAZMAT) in the Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.

Duties

You will collect and maintain hazardous material operations and usage data, preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports utilizing multiple automated databases. You will work with customers to avoid excess material and process automated database transactions to remove excess material from inventory records. You will maintain automated inventory records by conducting periodic physical inventories of hazardous material ensuring all stock records are accurate and resolve/correct differences as necessary. You will utilize a knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions related to hazardous material locker, inventory management, storage, receipt, issue, and excess processing. You will react and act professionally and courteously to supply customers who are upset, demanding, or generally unsatisfied.

Requirements

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing technical supply support work necessary to ensure the effective operation of ongoing Hazmat supply activities. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Applying knowledge of supply and hazardous material management regulations, policies, methods and procedures to perform a wide assortment of supply transactions, inventory management, and warehouse functions; 2) Requisition materials including HAZMAT using automated supply systems; 3) Maintain inventory records and perform physical inventories to ensure accuracy of records; 4) Provide customers with information on the proper handling of hazardous material; 5) Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in regards to HAZMAT related materials and processing of customer requests for hazardous materials.
